HELLO!
I'm Masha, a California-based Surface Designer and Illustrator.
Growing up, I was surrounded by creativity. My mother, an artist, designed and sewed her own clothes, filling our home with fabric, threads, and fashion magazines. I absorbed the latest trends from a young age, learning about color, texture, and design from the pages of fashion magazines and the stitches of my mother's creations.
I finished South Ural University with a degree in Fashion design. During my studies in University, I went to Makeup school to get a more practical career at the time in beauty industry. I had good careers in two countries for over twenty years, working with fashion and beauty brands, salons, and teaching makeup lessons.  I won several makeup competitions as well. To be successful at makeup I learned a lot about color, fashion and makeup history, trends and how to adapt them to real life, different styles and markets. And all that knowledge is now part of my skillset!
Working in this often-stressful environment, wearing all black (universal beauty professional uniform) I learned to appreciate my home and my homeware, where I can fully embrace my love for color and textures.
That's why when I changed my career to surface designer, I focused on my love of color and color psychology. Beautiful color combinations can change your mood completely!
Conversational and floral designs are my favorite - I think they can perfectly reflect your personality and add a little spark to your day (believe the girl, who was only allowed to wear fun socks under her fully black uniform. For twenty years).
My designs are hand drawn and hand painted in traditional and digital techniques. My other interests are fashion and portrait illustration, graphic design and book covers.
My mission is to create designs that will spark someone's day!
